1938
A Vision is Born
While serving as a missionary in the Belgian Congo, Ed Harlow received a vision from the Lord for a Bible school in North America.
1942
The Ministry is Born
The recently established Emmaus Bible School began providing correspondence biblical education and discipleship. By 1949, seventeen correspondence courses were available.
1965
Worldwide Growth
More than 3 million studies had been distributed, and Emmaus resources had been translated into 80 languages.
1977
Born to Win
Born to Win, was written in 1977. Written for the incarcerated, it aided what has grown into one of Emmaus Worldwide’s most significant ministries.
1992
50th Anniversary & the Iron Curtain
As the ministry celebrated 50 years, the Iron Curtain fell around the communist world, and Emmaus ministry exploded all over Eastern Europe.
2002
Independent Ministry
The correspondence division of Emmaus Bible School became a separate organization, called ECS Ministries.
2020
Emmaus Worldwide
The ministry adopted the name Emmaus Worldwide to reflect its growing international reach and impact.
