Lives transformed by the study of God’s Word.
We believe God’s Word transforms lives, and our desire is to place biblically sound study resources into the hands of people around the world while connecting learners with faithful believers who can encourage, mentor, and disciple them as they study God’s Word.
In Luke 24, two disciples walked the road to Emmaus discussing the death and resurrection of Jesus. As they walked, the risen Lord joined them and explained the Scriptures. Later, they said to one another:
“Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” - Luke 24:32
That is ultimately why Emmaus Worldwide exists - to walk with people from all over the world and open the Scriptures to them.

What We Do
Create Biblical Resources
We develop and distribute Bible courses, books, study guides, and discipleship materials designed to help people understand and apply God’s Word.
Equip Disciple-Makers
Emmaus Worldwide study materials have always been a tool for discipleship. We equip, encourage, and develop a worldwide network of disciplers to seek to offer encouragement, prayer, and personal interaction. We seek to help believers grow into faithful disciple-makers who can invest in others.
Reach People Worldwide
Emmaus Worldwide serves people around the world through printed resources, digital tools, personal mentorship, and, in some contexts, in-person Bible schools and ministry centers. While our resources are used in many different settings, our ministry is often found in places where access to sound biblical teaching, discipleship resources, or mature Christian mentors is limited. Our desire is to help people know Jesus, grow to become more like Him, and go share Him with others.
His Faithfulness
The Lord is accomplishing far more than statistics can measure. Behind every course, every translation, and every country represented is a person hearing His truth, growing in faith, and being equipped to share Christ with others. These numbers simply offer a glimpse of His faithfulness.
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
Countless lives impacted by studying God’s Word
Emmaus Worldwide traces its roots to 1938, when missionary Ed Harlow envisioned a ministry that would help people study God’s Word wherever they lived. What began as Emmaus Bible School in Canada expanded through correspondence Bible courses that made biblical teaching accessible far beyond the classroom.

While Emmaus Worldwide is not a denominational ministry, the tradition from which the ministry has its roots, and happily remains associated with, is sometimes referred to as "Plymouth Brethren" by others.
We are grateful for and proud of this heritage and its lasting contribution to biblical teaching, missions, and Christian discipleship. Many respected Bible teachers, missionaries, and authors—including William MacDonald, H. A. Ironside, C. H. Mackintosh, George Müller, Jim and Elisabeth Elliot, and others—have emerged from this tradition.
Those associated with this movement have often been described as “people of the Book” because of their commitment to studying, teaching, and applying God’s Word. That same commitment continues to guide Emmaus Worldwide today.
The content of Emmaus resources follows a historic, evangelical interpretation of Scripture that has been broadly accepted by Bible-believing Christians throughout church history. Our desire is not to promote denominational distinctives, but to faithfully teach the whole counsel of God and equip people everywhere to know Christ, grow in Christ, and share Him with others.

Not in the traditional sense. Over our history, the ministry of Emmaus Worldwide has served authors by publishing works that align with our theological and traditional distinctives.
However, in recent years, we have moved away from traditional publishing and seek to focus on our Bible courses and studies. Those who wish to publish books or other resources should seek other ministries or organizations to publish their works.
If you are an author, Bible teacher, or someone who writes well, we are always looking for contributors to new Bible study resources.
Note: Emmaus Worldwide no longer offers royalties, other financial renumeration, or authorship rights to works written on behalf of the ministry.

Not in the USA, nor generally in most of the world. However, in certain countries where we operate, the Emmaus branch is an accredited institution and offers a diploma/degree for the course of study prescribed in those contexts.

Emmaus Worldwide and Emmaus University share a common heritage and enjoy a warm relationship, but we are separate organizations.
Emmaus University focuses on higher education, while Emmaus Worldwide focuses on Bible courses, discipleship, and global ministry.
We are friends, partners, and supporters of one another—but we are not the same organization. If you are in need of a biblically solid higher education, we heartily recommend Emmaus University.
